"Two boys", my oldest brothers Mike (top) and Dennis, en route to the lake via slide. One of my parents, probably, said, "Wait! Let me take a picture," so they froze for a moment, and then proceeded on their gleeful way.

Oh they are so cute, and dedicated to the task of going swimming!
ReplyDeleteI agree on both counts, Barbara!
DeleteLooks like they're holding tight, trying to stop their momentum while the photographer snaps the shutter. Fun cute picture.:)
ReplyDeleteYes, it's not easy stopping one's momentum, as we all know! Very generous of them, I think. :)
DeleteThat's a cute photo. I clicked on it to enlarge and now see the woman in the water behind the slide. Your mother? Or someone else?
ReplyDeleteAh, I am just seeing her now for the first time - looks like she is a blond, so that wouldn't be my mom or anybody I recognize. Another freeze-frame of life in another time. Thanks for pointing her out to me, Kathy.
DeleteCute photo of your brothers. Looks like they were having fun sliding into the water.
ReplyDeleteThat other person in the water looks like another child. maybe a little girl?
ReplyDeleteHi Liz - I agree - looks like a little girl. I don't think she's part of the family group, though. Blonds are very rare in the family (aside from babies). However, some day I could sit down and examine the people that were at the "Mt Lodge" - there could be friends of the family there, too.
DeleteI love the photo. I remember many a time gripping the sides of a slide to slow down or stop altogether but why, I don't know - maybe to see if I could. There are no pictures, so obviously no one yelled, "Stop - let me get the camera."
ReplyDeleteToo bad - would enjoy seeing a picture of you on a slide - maybe you could re-enact? I remember stopping and starting on the slide as a way of teasing the person waiting at the top. I just love that family historians are willing to talk about these things!
ReplyDeleteA happy photograph of two brothers having-fun!
